Why aren't there any lessons available this week?

WE ALWAYS HAVE MORE LESSONS AVAILABLE THAN OUR ONLINE SCHEDULING SYSTEM SHOWS. IF YOU CAN'T FIND AN APPOINTMENT THAT FILLS YOUR NEEDS PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE AND WE WILL BE HAPPY TO ACCOMMODATE YOU. The online appointments are set up ahead of time. We can change things around for you so you can schedule your drive time when you want it!

What is the refund policy?

Refunds for services not completed are non-refundable.

How old do I need to be to get started?

If you are at least 15 years old you can enroll in our DMV approved online drivers education course, which is self paced and easy to learn but you must wait until you're 15½ to get your permit.

I have a permit, how do I get my license?

Students 15½ - 18 With a Permit

Once Behind-the-Wheel training has been completed you will receive a Certificate of Completion of Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training (DL400D) on the last lesson. Students must hold their permit for six (6) months and be at least 16 years of age before they can take their drivers license test. This is an original DMV document, we have each student initial their lesson plan sheet the day they have received it and we keep those records on file. 

To be able to take the test for your provisional license you must have met the following requirements:

  1. Be at least 16 years of age
  2. Completed six (6) Hours of Behind-the-Wheel training
  3. Schedule an drive test at the DMV

To take the test for your license, students must take the following to the DMV.

  1. OL238 Certificate of Completion of Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training
  2. Permit Signed by parent
  3. Proof of Insurance / Registration
  4. Vehicle in good working order

You have three chances to pass the driving test. If you fail, you must wait 1 week before retaking the test. 

After you pass your driving test you will be issued an interim license valid for 90 days until you receive your new photo license in the mail. 

Students Over 18 With a Permit

To take your driving test, you will need to:

  1. Schedule a driving test at the DMV
  2. Proof of Insurance / Registration

You have three chances to pass the driving test. If you fail, you may practice for a while, then make another appointment. There is no waiting period, but you must make an appointment. 

After you pass your driving test you will be issued an interim license valid for 90 days until you receive your new photo license in the mail. 

How do I get my permit?

Students 15½ - 18 With No Permit

Students must be at least 15½ years old and have completed our thirty (30) Hour Online Drivers Ed Course. Students will be mailed a DL400C "Certificate of Completion of Non-Classroom Driver Education".

To take the permit test, students must take the following to the DMV.

  1. DL400C Certificate of Completion of Non-Classroom Driver Education
  2. Birth Certificate
  3. Social Security Card
  4. DL44 (application with parent(s) signature)
  5. Fee for permit test

The permit test consists of 46 questions, only eight can be missed. If the test if failed, the student must wait one (1) week before retaking the test.

Once the test has been passed, we must first drive the with student to activate their permit, unless they are 17½ or older. Once we have activated their permit they can start practicing with their parents or anyone with a valid California driver license age 25 years or older. Students are also required to complete the entire course within six (6) months from the first day attended. 

Students Over 18 Without a Permit

Pass a traffic laws and sign test. There are 36 questions on the test. You have three chances to pass.

You will then be issued a permit. When you practice, you must have an accompanying adult who is 18 years of age or older, with a valid California license. This person must be close enough to you to take control of the vehicle if necessary. It is illegal for you to drive alone.
