It seems that Jonathan was destined to become a driving instructor. His recollection of his own behind the wheel test reveals his inspiration. "...I passed my own behind the wheel test, as a teenager, without receiving any marks. I remember the evaluator at the end of the test saying, "Congratulations! I couldn't have asked for a better ride." She even drew a smiley face on his evaluation sheet!
Thoughts on being an instructor: "I love being an instructor and in many ways I feel it was meant for me. One of the things I love most is that I get to work with students one on one. I think any type of teacher can appreciate the advantages of being able to tailor a learning experience to an individual student's needs. Identifying those needs and helping my students to overcome those obstacles is really fun and rewarding."
Favorite Past Times: Sports, video games, board games.
Favorite Ice Cream: Technically, pistachio frozen yogurt is my favorite, but if you want favorite ice cream I'll have to go with salty caramel crunch.
Favorite Game: I am a very competitive person. As long as I can win, it is my favorite.

The son of a truck driver, Mike has had safe driving instilled in him since he was a child. After driving industrial vehicles himself for the last ten years, he's hoping to use the lessons he's learned on the road to help a new generation of drivers.
Thoughts on being an instructor: "Teaching is something I have always wanted to do. I just love passing knowledge on to someone and watching them put it to use. The fact that I get to teach people to drive, a skill they will use nearly every day of their lives, means a lot to me."

A recent UCSB Grad, Mark (the Kiwi) comes from a land under the land down-under. He has traveled and driven all around the world, accumulating 5 driving credentials from 4 different countries, in addition to an international driving license. Mark aims to teach students to become safe drivers on all roads they encounter.
Thoughts on being an instructor: I love teaching. There aren't that many opportunities where you can work one on one with individuals and teach them skills that they are going to use for the rest of their lives. It's super rewarding to be able to see students grow and improve with each lesson or even how much more comfortable they can become behind the wheel in just one lesson.

Favorite Ice Cream: Coffee, anything with Coffee

Born and raised in the coastal commuter town of Ventura, the only thing Mark prefers to salty ocean air is the fresh wind of a rolled down car window. Collectively in his 17 years of driving experience Mark has logged over 1 million safe and accident free miles in commercial vehicles. His passion for driving started with his first driving job operating 40 foot long city buses for the county of Ventura. That experience became the stepping stone for his career with UPS. As a delivery driver and then an On-Road Safety Supervisor, Mark has been on both sides of the wheel. If it wasn’t for the health benefits of walking, Mark would probably drive everywhere he went!
Thoughts on being an instructor: "I always knew I wanted to impact southern California ‘traffic’ in a positive way to change it for the better. Instructing behind the wheel allows me to prepare the next generation for our growing state. I really enjoy teaching students one on one to build their confidence and skills behind the wheel. My hope is that the training my students receive will help protect their lives out there on the road."
Favorite Past Times: Baseball (with a dodger dog of course), hiking, weightlifting, and pretty much anything that gets me out in the sun and sweating.
Favorite Ice Cream: Anything with berries. The sweeter the better.
Favorite Game: The Forza series racing video games. Even in my down time I love to drive.

Erin’s love of driving began as soon as received his first driver’s license. Growing up in Sacramento meant that San Francisco and Lake Tahoe we’re only an hour and a half away. Erin “hit the road” often in those days and enjoyed many adventures from behind the wheel.
Thoughts on being an instructor: I find it rewarding to teach young and/or inexperienced people how to drive. I love to teach my students how to develop a “safety first” mentality. It’s very rewarding to witness the process of people transforming from inexperienced drivers to safe, confident and courteous drivers. I just love being part of that!

Thoughts on running a Driving School: "The process of building Easy Street from the ground up with my wife Renee has not always been "easy" but it's been very rewarding to watch it grow. Renee and I have always been driven by making the process of driving as easy as possible for the student and their loved ones. This core value drives everything we do. From our policies and proceedures we develop, to the new team members we hire, to how we train and support them, we wan't everybody to relax and learn to drive... the Easy Way."
Thoughts on being an Instructor "I continually strive to teach a balance between the joy and responsibility of the driving experience. Driving is dangerous and that is to be respected. Still, driving represents a huge leap of freedom that few milestones in life can compare. Driving is fun and driving lessons should be fun too!"
