John Pham’s Bio Continued…

. . . John had a career as an aerospace engineer and has always jumped at opportunities to give back to the world in the form of teaching. He has taught classes as a substitute teacher, served as a teacher assistant, tutored students at all levels, and mentored junior engineers to great effect. He enjoys teaching himself new skills as well. He has picked up swimming, yoga, downhill and cross-country skiing, and motorcycling this way. He continues to explore areas of mathematics and other subjects on his own, partly because he is fascinated by the process of learning. He is always interested in: 1) finding new ways to explain something well, 2) building a good foundation of knowledge or skills, and 3) building a good progression ladder to acquire new skills. 

Thoughts on being an instructor: "I am extremely honored to be in a position to help a driving student gain skills, proficiency, and confidence that will serve them for the rest of their life. Driving confidently and safely in rush hour LA traffic might seem like a complicated and daunting task, but a few fundamentals go a long way towards making it happen."

Favorite Past Times: “My perfect day: Hiking with my dogs in the morning, exploring the backroads on my motorcycle in the afternoon, and listening to (any) live music at night.”

Favorite Ice Cream: “Hagen Daas Rum and Raisin floats my boat!”
